    Advanced search is the most comprehensive way to search for files or people on the system.  A file or person must match all the criteria you supply in order to be found.  So if you don't know the exact phrase or keyword for any of the fields below, simply leave them blank.

 Examples
 
    1. To find files about 'water skiing' in a particular workgroup:
  • Type 'water skiing' in the General Search Terms field.
  • Select the workgroup you are interested in.  Leave all other entries blank.
  • Click 'Search Files.'

2. To find files by the author 'Orscon Scott Card':

  • Type 'Orson Scott Card' in the Author field.  Leave all other entries blank.
  • Click 'Search Files.'

3. To find files by the author 'Orscon Scott Card' about 'space':

  • Type 'space' in the General Search Terms field.
  • Type 'Orson Scott Card' in the Author field.  Leave all other entries blank.
  • Click 'Search Files.'

4. To find people from Texas named Jim:

  • Type 'Jim' in the First Name field.
  • Select 'TX' in the State field.  Leave all other entries blank.
  • Click 'Search People.'

5. To find people with 'ibm' in their email address:

  • Type 'ibm' in the email field.  Leave all other entries blank.
  • Click 'Search People.'
6. To find people from 'Los Angeles' whose last names begin with "Jo":
  • Type 'Jo' in the Last Name field.
  • Type 'Los Angeles' in the City field.  Leave all other entries blank.
  • Click 'Search People.'
